Global Justice for Animals Releases Report Condemning Peru Free Trade Agreement
Global Justice for Animals has released a report, The U.S. – Peru Trade Promotion Agreement : Protecting Investors Rights To Exploit Animals & The Environment, documenting the significant threat posed to animals by the Peru Free Trade Agreement, part of the Bush adminstration’s effort to enter into bilateral trade agreements with countries in the Andean region as part of its broader goal to create a hemispheric trading bloc under the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA).
As revealed in Global Justice for Animals report, the agreement is likely to lead to an increase in factory farming and expand destruction of wildlife habitat through mining and logging,
