Wetlands Exposes Citigroup’s Corporate Crimes at Financial Services Conference
On May 13, Wetlands and Rainforest Action Network protested Citigroup CEO Sandy Weill as he spoke at the Goldman Sachs Financial Services Conference at the Roosevelt Hotel on 45th Street and Madison Avenue in Manhattan.
Citigroup, a 1 trillion dollar empire profiting from destructive investments in predatory lending, redlining, and destructive fossil fuel death projects. From the rainforests of Peru and Indonesia, to the California Redwoods, Citigroup is there, financing destructive logging, mining and fossil fuel projects. The world's largest funder of the fossil fuel industry must be stopped! Activists leafleted conference attendees and let Weill know that we not stand by while he sells out our planet and destroys the habitat of wild animal species.
